I’m Aleksi.
I like understanding how things work: businesses, economies, whole countries. I’m interested in how one decision leads to the next, and whether you can see what’s coming before it gets there. I work at a large Finnish web hosting company that is a Google and Odoo partner, and my job is sales and strategy. In my free time I work with startups and advise them (at least on what not to do).
Most of my working life has been in sales, and I love it. To me, good sales is mostly about understanding how someone’s business runs and finding the part that I can make work better. It’s like a game: can I figure out how to fix or improve something the client doesn’t know is broken?
These days a lot of my work is about AI. I help organisations work out where AI is actually useful in their daily work, and I train their people to use it. It’s usually about people and how they work, rather than systems or workflows. Warner Music Scandinavia and Euromaster are two of the teams I’ve worked with. Some of it saves real time. Some of it isn’t worth the bother, and I think saying which is which is just as useful.
This site is where I write about that, and about economics, news, politics and whatever else has my attention. Some pieces are analysis and some are predictions.
It’s a personal project. I write mostly in English, sometimes in Finnish, and the views are my own.
